It was almost standing room only for another wonderful communion send off service.
It is always so meaningful to see entire families sharing communion together, laughing, crying, and wishing each other well. After that it was a surprisingly easy ride to the airport in advance of rush hour traffic. To make things even better, we arrived to a nearly abandoned new International terminal at Concourse F where we efficiently checked in. After a breeze getting through security it was off to Concourse E for dinner. Turns out it's there is nothing in the food court that any human being should be eating before boarding an eight hour flight. We chose between burritos, greasy pizza, chinese, and your typical fast food staples. Pretty sure the kids have spent a third of their money already.
Now we are eagerly waiting at the gate to board. Card games, electronic devices, and pop culture magazines have already surfaced as if we are getting ready to leave civilization for good.Spirits are high. Next time we talk, we will be on the other side of the pond.
